Hi, my name is Jun Shu. Iām a surface pattern designer, illustrator and watercolour artist based in Abu Dhabi. Most of my art and designs are inspired by my love for florals and nature.

Born and raised in China, my interest in art was found when I was a little girl, reading stacks of beautifully illustrated classic fairy tale books bought by my father.
Encouraged by my artistic dad, I studied Chinese painting and calligraphy from a young age. However, I didn't choose art as my university major, but studied journalism and worked as a translator in a non-profit for a decade. I'm thankful for that career where I was blessed to travel to many countries and acquaint myself with different cultures, and those years formed me as an individual and my aesthetics. It also developed me a unique perspective for my art and design.
Married and two babies later, I finally picked up a brush and started to paint again, which clicked immediately. I then learned Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and surface pattern designing, and never looked back ever since.
I'd describe my work as delightful and calming. My style is lucent and delicate, with a touch of elegance.
After living in Europe (Spain and Switzerland) for nearly a decade, my family moved to Abu Dhabi in 2021, where I launched my art and design business, Jun Shu Create.
